Q – How do you get pumped up before a performance or competition? Is there music you listen to? Something you think about? Something you do?
A – To get ready for a performance, I stretch to make sure I don’t hurt myself when I dance. I also listen to the music of the performance and go over the dance both in my head and physically.
Q – Do you have any good luck charms or superstitions?
A – I carry around a silver troll with blue hair that I got from Jess, my dance teacher.
Q – Who is your hero & why?
A – I don’t have one specific hero, but I look up to my dance teachers because of their dedication to making me and others better dancers.
Q – What are your other hobbies outside of [dance, cello, singing]?
A – If I am not dancing I like to hang out with my friends, read, go for walks, and play board games.
Q – If you could be any cartoon or superhero, who would it be & why?
A – I don’t have a specific cartoon or superhero that I would be, but a fictional character that I would be is Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter books so that I could use her time traveller and be two places at once.
Q – Favorite snack before a performance?
A – I try not to eat right before a dance performance, but I make sure that I eat about an hour or two before hand. I usually have string cheese and crackers or yogurt.
Q – What other talent/art would you like to try & why?
A – In addition to dance, I would like to try singing and acting since they would compliment dance so well.
Q – Tell us something we wouldn’t know about you just by looking at you.
A – You can’t tell by looking at me, but I am a perfectionist. I like to be on time (or early), my work is always super neat, and I take forever to pick what I am going to wear each morning.
