The Beauty Of Green Design – Top 10

The American Institute of Architects honors the beauty of sustainable design every year with its “Top Ten Green Projects” list.  Categories for consideration include materials, water cycle, energy future, and existing building re-use.  Check out some of our favorites below and tune in to Ovation’s original new reality competition, One Man’s Trash, where artists turn trash into art.  Premiering May 21st at 10ET/ 7PT.

While all (or at least most) architectural projects aim for aesthetic appeal, the buildings on this list prove that beauty doesn’t have to be only skin deep. These buildings have a positive impact on their occupants, the surrounding community, and the environment.  Surely at some point all design will be sustainable design.
