S2 E6 Dolly Parton: Travelin' Thru

Successful in every aspect – Singer/Songwriter/Movie Star/Theme Park owner/Philanthropist/Author and more – but Dolly’s not slowing down - this endeavor created a new buzz about the superstar's reputation. Soundtrack to the Golden Globe winning film “Transamerica”, this song was nominated for an Academy, Golden Globe and Grammy for best song from a movie. The bouncy, uplifting anthem accompanies the film's closing credits and prompted Parton's second Oscar nomination -- for best original song and she performed the song on the 78th annual Academy Awards show. Her date for the event was film director Duncan Tucker (Dolly’s husband prefers to stay out of the limelight) In addition to Dolly, there were other Country, Americana and Bluegrass performers that participated in the soundtrack all contributing to an increase in tolerance and acceptance of all God’s children who are ‘trying to fit in’.
